Alex Beresford has playful dig at Piers Morgan after Good Morning Britain presenter fails as weather presenter

Weatherman Alex Beresford has ribbed Piers Morgan after the Good Morning Britain presenter tried his hand at forecasting.

Mr Morgan jumped in front of the giant map of the British Isles this morning (Monday) and attempted to demonstrate a previously unknown talent.

But the TV personality's efforts opened him up to light-hearted criticism on Twitter.

Mr Beresford tweeted: "That one time Piers Morgan came into the 'weather box' and got lost."

During Mr Morgan's performance, he had some difficulties operating the remote control and made a string of gaffes.

He announced it was going to be "great all week in most places", but weather reporter Laura Tobin corrected him while the TV flashed up that it would be "cloudy" and "cooler" in some areas.

Mr Morgan also accidentally described a hurricane heading towards Bermuda as a "swirl of rain somewhere out in the ocean".

After being informed of his error, Mr Morgan conceded: "OK - that is serious".

Over recent months Mr Morgan and Mr Beresford have engaged in several good-natured clashes, with one occasion seeing Mr Morgan suggest his colleague would "never have sex again".
