Alex Beresford issued a career update on today's episode of Good Morning Britain.
The 41-year-old host has enjoyed a holiday away from the ITV news programme.
He returned to present the weather on Friday's edition, which was anchored by Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins.

Alex entertained viewers with an appearance on Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire this week.
However, he revealed how his time on the show was controversially cut short after comedian Jimmy Carr's time overran.
Since it was a celebrity edition, there is no rollover so Alex's abrupt end meant he had to take home the £16,000 he had built up at the time.
But Alex won't have to wait too long until his next game show appearance as he confirmed he is set to appear on the next episode of Celebrity Catchphrase.
Alex is set to compete on Saturday's edition of the Stephen Mulhern hosted show in aid of charity.
Ben Shephard asked him how his stint on the show went, but the weather forecaster was giving nothing away.
He joked: "All I'm gonna say is I was closest to the screen."
The Tipping Point host shot back: "He's getting his excuses in early."
Celebrity Catchphrase also confirmed Alex's appearance on the show with a teaser clip on Twitter, where he gave his prediction for the episode.
He said: "Well it started off frosty. I can feel it getting mild. But it's gonna sizzle a bit later on or it could just be a storm in a tea cup."
Alex is competing against Sarah-Jane Crawford and Joe Absolom on Saturday's episode.
Celebrity Catchphrase airs Saturday at 7.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
