Alesha MacPhail 's uncle is urging people to remember her for who she was instead of the schoolgirl who was taken from her bed and murdered.

She created a video, which has been viewed more than 58,000 times, called "All about pasta" where she spoke about the everything on a packet of pasta.

In a Facebook video, CJ said: "I don't want anyone giving him the satisfaction of knowing that what he has done to me and my family.

"I want everyone to remember that instead of remembering my niece Alesha over what's happened over the last few months with the court case and today (yesterday) with the sentencing.

"It's not about what happened to her, but remembering her for who she was and not remember her as just another wee girl that was taken out of someone's house and murdered."

CJ asked people to like and share the YouTube video.

He added: "Knowing that Alesha MacPhail's mum says she 'looks forward to death' of daughter's sick killer wanted to be a YouTube star, she enjoyed making people laugh and she was a very intelligent girl and she was just everyone's best friend."

It comes as CJ also started a petition to see a change in the law to allow children who commit the most serious crimes, such as rape and murder, to be sentenced as adults.

He said: "As of today I am going to be setting up a petition to the Scottish Government in relation to anyone who is over the age of 16 whom commits serious crimes, such as murder and rape.
