Alesha MacPhail's teenage killer has been allowed an appeal against his sentence.
Aaron Campbell, 17, launched a bid last month to have his 27-year minimum sentence reduced after being found guilty of raping and murdering the six-year-old, from Airdrie, on the Isle of Bute last July.
The Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service confirmed the hearing will take place at the High Court in Edinburgh on August 7.

The teenager was convicted earlier this year at the High Court in Glasgow , where a jury unanimously found him guilty following a nine-day trial.
Campbell finally admitted his crimes in a psychological report prepared ahead of his sentencing.
Airdrie schoolgirl Alesha was visiting her dad and his family for three weeks at the start of the summer holidays when the pervert broke into the family home looking for drugs.
Campbell said he was "entertained by rape" and he was "satisfied" with the murder, describing it as "a moment of opportunity".
As he carried the drowsy child to her death she asked him who he was and where they were going, he claimed to be a friend of her dad's and was taking her home.
Lord Matthews said social work and psychologist reports "had painted a clear picture of a cold, callous, calculating, remorseless and dangerous individual".
He said Campbell had shown a "staggering lack of remorse" and told the teenager: "Not once did I detect a flicker of emotion from you."
