We’re about to start the third (and regrettably final) season of The Summer I Turned Pretty and already we’re being treated to offscreen news, with stars Lola Tung (Belly Conklin) and Rain Spencer (Taylor Madison Jewel) all set to make a trip to Australia later this month.
The actors will be joined on their jaunt Down Under by Jenny Han, the author of the original Summer book series upon which the Prime Video show is based.
The trio are coming to Australia as part of Prime Book Club LIVE, a free event set to celebrate the streamer’s knack for bringing beloved books — like The Summer I Turned Pretty and Mercedes Ron’s Culpable trilogy — to the screen.

The event will see Tung, Spencer and Han celebrate the legacy of the show, and hopefully (though doubtfully) dish on spoilers or teasers as new episodes of the final season continue to air.
It’s said the trio will attend the event to take part in immersive activations and panel discussions, with Lucinda Price AKA Froomes taking on hosting duties.

The page-to-screen celebration will take over Machine Hall in Sydney from 5pm on Thursday, July 31, and did I mention it’s free?! You can secure your sport by registering for tickets from midday on Monday, July 14 here.
Bookworms will have more than just The Summer I Turned Pretty to sink their teeth into at the event, with Ron — the author behind the hit trilogy My Fault, Your Fault, Our Fault — also attending alongside events based around We Were Liars, the E. Lockhart-penned mystery novel that also made a splash on Prime Video earlier this year.
It comes as the current season of The Summer I Turned Pretty continues to unfurl, with Tung just this week teasing to PEDESTRIAN.TV that “there will always be new things to expect”.
“I think it’s better if it’s a surprise. I think that’s more fun, it’s always like a nice, fun, new thing to discover,” Tung said.
Meanwhile, Christopher Briney, who plays Conrad Fisher, told P.TV that despite their thoughts otherwise, fans should “just trust that Jenny [Han] knows what she’s doing with it, because I think a direct adaptation would probably be like two episodes”.
You can trust the process, or you can try to get answers from Han, Tung, and Spencer when they head Down Under for Prime Book Club LIVE later this month!
