Alen Amedovski vs. John Phillips added to UFC on ESPN+ 18 in Copenhagen

A middleweight bout is the latest addition to the UFC’s first trip to Denmark.

Alen Amedovski (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will take on John Phillips (21-9 MMA, 0-3 UFC) at UFC on ESPN+ 18, UFC officials announced Tuesday.

UFC on ESPN+ 18 takes place Sept. 28 at Royal Arena in Copenhagen. The entire card streams on ESPN+.

Amedovski suffered his first pro loss in his promotional debut earlier this year, a unanimous decision loss to Krzysztof Jotko at UFC on ESPN+ 7. He will look to rebound when he takes on Wales’ Phillips, who also is in search of his first UFC win.

Phillips is coming off a controversial split-decision loss to Jack Marshman at UFC on ESPN+ 5. He has lost all three of his UFC appearances and goes into the fight with his back against the wall. He was expected to take on Karl Roberson this past weekend at UFC on ESPN+ 13 in Sacramento, Calif., but was forced out for undisclosed reasons.

With the addition, the latest UFC on ESPN+ 18 lineup includes:

  • Thiago Alves vs. Gunnar Nelson
  • Macy Chiasson vs. Lina Lansberg
  • Ion Cutelaba vs. Khalil Rountree
  • Alessio Di Chirico vs. Peter Sobotta
  • Michal Oleksiejczuk vs. Ovince Saint Preux
  • Alen Amedovski vs. John Phillips
