UEFA chief Aleksander Ceferin says 'too many people' are speaking about things 'they do not have a clue' about when it comes to Manchester CIty's two-year European ban.
City were given a ban from European competition as well as a €30million for a 'serious breach' of FFP rules, though they are appealing with a Court of Arbitration for Sport date set for early June.
As City wait for that date, UEFA head Ceferin has commented on the case which, he admits, he does not know the details of.
"Look, the decision was made and now the case is at the court of arbitration for sport and Cas will decide.," he told The Guardian. "That’s absolutely all I can say, for two reasons.
"Firstly, the independent bodies made the decision, I didn’t, and secondly, I really don’t know the case [well enough] and I don’t like people who comment about matters that they don’t know well. There are too many people commenting on different topics that they do not have a clue about.
"I don’t want to comment on this case any more."
City's case has caused plenty of debate around the FFP rules and Ceferin says there could be changes to the regulations with a 'luxury tax' potentially being introduced.
"If they don’t follow the rules they will always be sanctioned but of course we are [always] thinking about how we can improve our regulations and, if necessary, adapt to new times," he added.
"This will not happen very soon but we are thinking of improving [FFP]; modernising it and doing something more about the competitive balance. We are also considering some sort of “luxury tax”, if it is possible.
"So, there are many ideas but trust me, during these difficult times we have stopped thinking more or less about changes that will happen in the future. Now we have to steer our ship on to the right course and we are close to doing it. Then, when things calm down, we will go back to the old tasks."
