Aleks Zinchenko agent open to Napoli offer in Man City negotiations with Kalidou Koulibaly

A proposal to take Aleks Zinchenko to Napoli as part of a deal for Kalidou Koulibaly would be heard, according to the agent of the Manchester City player.

City have still not agreed a deal for the Senegalese defender as they look to correct a mistake from the last summer transfer window and replace Vincent Kompany. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that City's approach is not helping negotiations, although there has been a reluctance from both sides to move too far from their original positions.

Zinchenko began last season as first choice left-back but failed to capitalise on his opportunity and started just three of the 14 games after lockdown. Angelino's move to RB Leipzig reduces competition in the position, but Pep Guardiola used Joao Cancelo there in the final weeks of the season.

Napoli have shown interest in Zinchenko in previous years, and his agent Alan Prudnikov has indicated that they would not instantly rule out a move if that was introduced in the Koulibaly talks.

“Zinchenko in the Koulibaly negotiation? He is on the radar of Naples, three years ago there were meetings,” he told Radio Marte, via Sport Witness.

“But for this we have to ask Koulibaly’s agent, of whom we have the utmost respect as well as the Manchester City management.

“What if City called me to include Zinchenko in the negotiation? If it were to do so, we would listen to Napoli’s proposal and try to see what to do.”
