Alejandra Guzmán Returns to the Operating Room Following 40+ Surgeries

Mexican rock icon Alejandra Guzmán has revealed that she recently underwent surgery. The 56-year-old artist made the announcement via Instagram on May 8, where she shared a photo from the hospital and updated her followers on her recovery.

"They removed an irregular synovial cyst. I'm ready to rock and roll," she wrote, assuring fans that she's on the mend and ready to get back to her music career. Her father, singer Enrique Guzmán, added further clarity in an interview, confirming that the procedure involved her hand.

"It was a minor operation on a finger due to a tendon issue," he explained, noting that the surgery was not life-threatening. He emphasized that Alejandra was in good spirits and recovering comfortably at home.

This is not the first health battle the singer has endured. Guzmán has famously undergone more than 40 surgeries following a botched cosmetic procedure in 2009, in which she received injections of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) in her buttocks.

The substance caused infections, chronic pain, and long-term complications that nearly ended her career. Over the years, she has used her experience as a cautionary tale and spoken openly about the dangers of unsafe beauty treatments.

Despite the setbacks, Guzmán seemingly remains unstoppable. She isin the middle on her "Brilla Tour", with shows scheduled across Mexico and the United States.

Currently, no dates have been canceled or postponed. "Alejandra is a warrior," a source said, and she's always known how to reinvent herself, even in the toughest times."

Her personal life has also taken a turn for the better. After years of estrangement, she recently reconciled with her daughter, Frida Sofía, following the death of Guzmán's mother, the legendary Silvia Pinal. The emotional reunion has been a source of healing for both, and fans have celebrated the renewed bond. With new music, live performances, and her health back on track, she's once again proving that the show must go on for La Reina del Rock.
