Aled Jones on 'horrible' part of The Masked Singer after Traffic Cone reveal

Aled Jones was unmasked as Traffic Cone during The Masked Singer on Saturday night.

The Welsh classical singer and presenter managed to stump judges Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, Rita Ora and Davina McCall for six weeks before being unmasked during the 2022 semi-finals.

While Aled had been a popular name among viewers at home for some time, final guesses from the panel included Shane Richie, Russell Watson, Bradley Walsh and Rob Brydon.

So following Aled Jones' big reveal the judges were left kicking themselves after not recognising the voice or working out the clue packages.

Explaining why he did the show, Aled said: "It's so uplifting, when will I ever sing Rick Astley and the Pina Colada song again?"

And while Aled called the competition a "brilliant, fun experience" there was one aspect of it he wasn't so fond of: keeping it a secret.

Following the show Aled's Classical FM colleague Dave Rose tweeted: "We knew it was @realaled - everyone at @ClassicFM did! We'd recognise that voice anywhere! He denied it until the end though - nice one Al!"

Sharing the tweet with his 63,000 Twitter followers, Aled admitted: "Keeping the secret has been horrible!!!!"

Aled's big reveal comes the same night Michelle Williams was unmasked as Rockhopper.

Like Aled, the Destiny's Child star was also successful in duping the panel who failed to guess her name.

The double elimination means this year's finalists have now been confirmed as Mushroom, Robobunny and Panda.

The Masked Singer UK returns on Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
