Aled Davies' Paralympic Games Highlights - in pictures
I couldn’t be in the stadium for Richard Whitehead’s 200m final – it was the day before my discus event, so I was at home watching it on TV. We knew he was going to win that race hands down, it was just a case of: 'How fast do you reckon he can go?'Photograph: Harry Engels/Getty ImagesI already had my shot-put bronze when I competed in the discus and I knew I could throw a long way, so I was secretly pretty confident. Then I saw the Duchess of Cambridge coming out to present my medal – I was absolutely gobsmacked. It was a moment I’ll cherish forever Photograph: Matt Dunham/APMy main man David Weir led us by example at the Games. He was worried himself that he might be too fatigued for the marathon but the guy dominated the field. He’s a heroPhotograph: Tom Jenkins
Jonnie Peacock’s one of my best friends, and I knew he was in great form going into his 100m final. He was a bit disappointed with his time but he’s coming round to it now… Photograph: Julian Finney/Getty ImagesBeing caught up in the athletics meant I missed a lot of other brilliant events like Sarah Storey’s four golds in the Velodrome. But I’m looking forward to seeing them on TV – I’ll be watching moments from these Games over and over again. Forever.Photograph: Luke Macgregor/Reuters
