Alec Burks scores 28 off bench, but Warriors lose to Rockets, 129-112

After Monday night’s exciting win, the young Warriors, who happen to be quite undermanned, were outmatched by James Harden and the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night. Playing without Draymond Green and D’Angelo Russell, it was bound to be an uphill battle, even with the Rockets missing Eric Gordon.

Rookie Eric Paschall—who quickly emerged as the center of attention—had a relatively inefficient night. Although he scored 19 points, he managed to shoot just 6-for-15 from the field. Alec Burks led the team with 28 points off the bench as James Harden continued his offensive assault on the NBA.

Harden entered the contest averaging 36.6 points per game on the season and met that average with a 36-point night against the Warriors. He also had 13 assists.

With respect to the game, the Warriors played the Rockets evenly after the first quarter, but simply couldn’t keep pace with Houston, as they lost each of the next three quarters and carried a 15-point deficit into the fourth quarter.

Golden State obviously wasn’t able to erase that deficit.

With the loss, Golden State falls to 1-6 on the season and will try to score a win when they continue their current road trip on Friday night. They’ll be paying a visit to Karl-Anthony Town and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
