Actor and Saturday Night Live's Donald Trump impersonator Alec Baldwin has said that 'beating him would be so easy' if he ran for president.

“If I ran for President, would you vote for me?” the 61-year-old comedian wrote on his official Twitter account on Monday.

“I won’t ask you for any $,” the tweet continues.

“And I promise I will win. Beating Trump would be so easy.

“So easy. So easy,”

Baldwin then said: “these tweets have saved me millions in polling”, suggesting he might run against Mr Trump in the 2020 presidential elections.

The two have been at loggerheads since Baldwin first began impersonating the President on US comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL).

In February, Mr Trump accused SNL of bias against his Republican party and said there was “nothing funny” about Baldwin’s skits.

The 30 Rock star’s latest mockery of the President has so far received 2,410 likes on Twitter, but supporters of Mr Trump have hit back at the actor, with one user tweeting: “Never. You would be humiliated if you tried. So please please run. That would be funnier then [sic] anything you've done on SNL since Trump won.”
