Alec Baldwin arrested for punching man over parking spot in Greenwich Village

NEW YORK _ Actor Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday for allegedly sucker-punching another man in a fight over a parking spot in Greenwich Village.

The "Hunt for Red October" star was trying to park in a spot when his alleged victim jumped into the spot at about 1:30 p.m., sources with knowledge of the case said.

The two argued and when the victim went to a pay the parking meter, Baldwin ran up and struck him, authorities said.

Police took Baldwin in for questioning. He is expected to be charged with assault, sources said.

The actor is known for his hot temper, but has mellowed over the last few years as he assumed the role of President Trump on "Saturday Night Live." He is also the host of his own ABC talk series "The Alec Baldwin Show."
