Aldi workers respond to man's 'genius life hack' for slowing the cashiers down

Aldi employees have shut down an apparent "life hack" that has been labelled "genius" by many on Tiktok.

It comes after user @ciaranelliotwalm shared his hack while in the supermarket in an attempt to slow down cashiers - who are of course notoriously speedy.

The hack itself is to spread the shopping out on the belt so the worker is forced to wait for the next products to make it easier for the shopper to pack their bags.

However, many people who work in Aldi spotted the apparent hack and were quick to shut it down, saying it would not work.

One woman replied: "Hahaha people think this works, we'll just scan faster."

While another added: "I work in Aldi and if someone does that I just push all their shopping together, because otherwise it creates more people waiting at the end of my till."

And the final nail in the coffin from another employee read: "Not going to work sorry, before starting I am going to push all your shopping together making space for the people behind you and then I am gonna scan sorry."

The video is one of hundreds of supermarket hacks on the social media platform - although few have seemed to work.
