Aldi worker in Ayrshire celebrates 25 years working for German supermarket giant

An Ayrshire supermarket worker has celebrated 25 years of going wild in the aisles.

Kirsty Kerr has passed the milestone at Aldi — where she joined in 1996.

She currently works as a store assistant at the firm's Saltcoats branch, but has loyally served a number of the company's Ayrshire stores down the years.

Kirsty joined the Aldi team just two years after the German giant opened its first Scottish store.

She said: “It has been a privilege to work at Aldi for 25 years.

"I’ve loved working here and it’s the customers and my colleagues that make the local store such a great place to work.”

Richard Holloway, regional managing director at Aldi UK, added: "Without the hard work and dedication of our store colleagues we wouldn’t be able to provide customers with the excellent and efficient service we’ve become known for.

"Colleagues like Kirsty are the cornerstone of our business and I thank her for her continued dedication throughout the last 25 years. Hopefully we work together for many more years to come."
