Aldi unveils latest fakeaway product to accompany Italian pizza night feast

Low-cost supermarket Aldi has unveiled its latest fakeaway product and fans of Italian food are delighted.

Carlos Dough Balls with Garlic Butter Dip (£1.35, 180g), are more than 30 per cent cheaper than restaurant chain Pizza Express’s popular starter.

Shoppers can enjoy a full fakeaway feast from the comfort of their sofas as the delicious dough balls pair perfectly with the Carlos Takeaway Fully Loaded Meat Feast Pizza (£3.29, 510g) and the Carlos Takeaway Mini Garlic Pizza Bread (£1.09, 145g) .

To complete the ultimate night in, pair with a glass of red wine. Aldi wine expert Sam Caporn said: “The adage of ‘what grows together goes together’ is so true when it comes to Italy.

"So look no further than a snazzy Sangiovese based blend such as the Specially Selected Maremma Toscana for pizza nights. The medium to full bodied red gives notes of black cherry and blueberry that are fabulous with a slice (or two) of pizza."

Aldi's Specially Selected Maremma Toscana Sangiovese red wine costs £7.99 for a bottle and is available now.

The dough balls are handmade in the UK and available in stores now.
