Aldi to open two new Leeds stores and create dozens of jobs

Aldi shoppers will soon be able to visit two new stores in Leeds.

The discount supermarket chain has announced plans to open eight stores in Yorkshire in 2019, including one in Rothwell and one in Kirk Lane, Yeadon.

It says the new stores will create more than 240 jobs across the eight new Yorkshire sites.

There are also plans to invest another £300 million in refurbishing eight existing Yorkshire stores, to create more space for fresh and chilled food products and establish wider and brighter aisles.

Colin Breslin, regional managing director at Aldi said: “We’ve set out ambitious plans for this year and we’re investing heavily across Yorkshire to ensure even more people in the region can shop and save closer to home.

“We have a fantastic team across the area and this means we can grow and offer even more employment opportunities for local people.

“We’re excited to see how the stores develop over the next few months and I would encourage local people to keep an eye out for recruitment opportunities.”
