Aldi is to give all staff face masks to its staff to help protect them during the coronavirus outbreak.
The retailer joins Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco in giving workers the option to wear masks.
Aldi's move comes on top of measures already in force including gloves and clear screens installed at more than 7,000 checkouts.
Staff at the supermarket giant can also access the Government's coronavirus testing programme for critical workers.
It comes after the Scottish Government advised the use of face coverings when shopping and social distancing is hard to maintain.
Nicola Sturgeon said people could use a cloth covering such as a scarf in supermarkets.
The First Minister said: "We are recommending that you do wear a cloth face covering if you are in an enclosed space with others where social distancing is difficult, for example public transport or in a shop."
Aldi has also introduced a voucher scheme to make it easier for volunteers to buy food on behalf of the vulnerable and those self-isolating.
The vouchers are available to buy on a new Aldi voucher website vouchers.aldi.co.uk.
Once purchased, the vouchers can be posted to any address in the UK so they can be given to volunteers, friends or family members to shop on behalf of vulnerable people.
Vouchers are available in denominations of £5.00 and £10.00 with no additional costs to customers for postage.
