Aldi teams up with artisan gin producer for latest summer tipples

Budget retailer Aldi has partnered with a British drinks manufacturer to launch a host of summer spirits that are hitting supermarket shelves this week.

The latest tasty tipple – The Infusionist Passionfruit Gin Liqueur - will be available online and in stores across the country as part of Aldi’s biggest ever Spirits Festival.

Since 2015, Riverside Spirits has supplied unique liqueurs to Aldi, including its popular Salted Caramel Vodka Liqueur. The partnership has allowed the family-owned business to meet the increased demand for its artisan gin liqueurs.

The Infusionist Passionfruit Gin Liqueur is likely to be a popular choice amongst Aldi shoppers this summer, with 25,000 bottles launching in stores up and down the country.

The budget supermarket chain has launched a host of new additions to its award-winning spirits collection, including a Caramel Liqueur which tastes just like a boozy Biscoff cupcake.

Michelle Mclean, sales manager at Riverside Spirits, said: “Working with Aldi has been an amazing journey and our industry knowledge and skills have increased massively as a result.

“The last year has been incredibly difficult to navigate, but the support from such a major retail player as Aldi is invaluable.

"It’s allowed us to not just survive but thrive, further investing in state-of-the-art processes and machinery, and upskilling our dedicated team.”

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “Riverside Spirits is a trusted partner and we’re delighted to share its gin liqueur with our shoppers for this year’s Spirits Festival.

“The partnership we’ve built is invaluable and we look forward to continuing our work with Riverside Spirits in the future, bringing more of their wonderful creations to our shelves.”

Aldi has recently announced plans to increase the amount of food and drink it buys from British suppliers by £3.5billion a year by 2025 as it continues its rapid expansion across the UK.
