Aldi Specialbuys delayed by weeks thanks to canal crisis

Shoppers waiting for Aldi's latest Specialbuy bargains have been warned that some have been delayed by up to a month thanks to the crisis in the Suez Canal.

The canal, a major shipping route for goods into the UK, was blocked when a ship became wedged across the channel.

Aldi now says that means a number of its Specialbuys won't be available when they were expected.

In a statement on their site, Aldi said: "A number of Specialbuys may be delayed due to current events. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

It is the second time this year Specialbuys have been delayed.

In January Aldi issued an apology when baby items which should have been on sale were delayed by around a month.

More than 40 items were delayed.

SpecialBuys can be bought online and in store, with new items available on Thursdays and Sundays.
