ALDI shopping hack branded ‘genius’ by fellow mums

Shoppers have branded a bag-hack ‘genius’ after a mum revealed a brilliant new use for tissue boxes.

The discovery was first shared by one mum on Facebook who saw the trick being used in Aldi by another smart shopper.

Now the simple tip is being shared far and wide and all you need is an empty tissue box.

The mum who shared the tip on Facebook said her fellow shopper “probably thought I was a bit nuts” when she asked for a picture of the trick.

However, it has been branded “genius” by patrons of the shopping group, a report in The Mirror confirmed.

While many of use one shopping bag to carry all of the others stuffed inside, she says the woman had instead placed them neatly inside an old tissue box, keeping them compact and allowing her to pull out one at a time.

She wrote on an Aldi Facebook group: “As I pushed my buggy to the bagging counter, I see the woman next to me pull her plastic grocery sacks out of a Kleenex box.

“I asked her to see the Kleenex box and then laughed right out loud telling her just how brilliant she is.

“She probably thought I was a bit nuts because I wanted a picture of it … But I just had to share. She says she keeps this little Kleenex box in the car and always has little grocery sacks handy. Just plain stinkin’ smart.”

The post racked up hundreds of comments as people praised the hack.

One person replied to say: “This is exactly what I call one of the ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’ moments that I have daily! Brilliant.”

A second wrote: “She’s a genius! I’m stealing that idea to keep in my car.”

Others said they have used the method to store bags at home, with some suggesting an old baby wipe box works just as well, but added that they had never considered taking it with them to the supermarket.

Someone else added: “I keep a box under all of my sinks, my garage and laundry room but I never thought of one in my car for Aldi stops. Great idea.”

Shoppers also noted how the trick can be used in all major supermarkets - meaning ASDA, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl and M&S shoppers can also benefit.
