Aldi shoppers have been raving over a new item on the shelves that will be just the ticket for the garden with a spell of scorching weather on the way.
The supermarket showed off some of the newest additions to its Specialbuys range which landed in stores on Thursday, June 8, including a host of garden must-haves for summer. Among the new bits and pieces are outdoor seat cushions, solar lights, planters and bird feeders to spruce up your outside space - but one product in particular caught the eye of shoppers when Aldi shared a glimpse of it on Instagram.
The Garden Sun Shade from Gardenline is now being sold only in stores for £19.99, and is available as either a rectangle or triangle shape in grey or beige. Aldi describes the handy shade as being ideal for creating a shady spot for all the family, from a protected play area for the little ones to a cool corner for the grown-ups to enjoy some al fresco dining - and shoppers are already vowing to snap one up for themselves.
Aldi's comments section was quickly filled with customers tagging their friends to tell them about the sun shade. "Check this out!" one person said, while others left heart-eyes emojis and someone else remarked: "That sun shade looks great."
Also landing in the Specialbuys aisle this week were Decorative Wall Geckos for £9.99 to add a quirky touch to your garden, along with the eye-catching £6.99 Percy Peacock Wall Light. Shoppers can also pick up a six-pack of Mosaic Solar Lights for £14.99 in stores for an extra pop of outdoor colour.
Elsewhere in Aldi's garden shop, shoppers can splash out - literally - on a 14ft Elite Rattan Frame Pool to keep cool in the heatwave, available for £299.99 on the supermarket's website. Or for a cheaper alternative there's the Summer Waves Metal Frame Pool, which comes with a cover included and will set you back just £129.99.
And for any households with pooches that need somewhere to stay cool this summer, the retailer has also brought back its bestselling Sunshade Dog Bed for £19.99. The raised bed comes with a UV 50 protection canopy, and has been praised as "brilliant" by owners for keeping their pets safe from the sun.
Aldi isn't the only budget-friendly retailer going big on its garden offering this year - both The Range and B&M both recently launched huge sales on outdoor furniture, décor, barbeques and more. The Range is currently offering shoppers up to 35% off garden seating, while B&M has slashed prices by up to 33%.
