Aldi shoppers 'horrified' over supermarket's latest product announcement

Supermarket giant Aldi is known for its diverse range of products and Special Buys - which come and go throughout the year.

From Hanging Egg Chairs to garden heaters; Aldi usually has something to keep shoppers' eyes peeled when they've only gone in for a pint of milk.

But the supermarket's latest product release might just be its most controversial yet - as Aldi is selling mince pies.

IT'S JUNE.

Writing on Facebook, Aldi shared the news of 'junemas mince pies' coming to store.

The retailer wrote: "Have a very merry #AldiJunemas. Because you didn't get the Christmas you deserved this year, we're celebrating again on 25th June!

"Look out for our favourite Junemas Mince Pies in store from 21st June!"

The news hasn't gone down too well with some shoppers - with some appearing 'horrified' by the idea.

"Who had loads of left over Christmas stock that was due to go out of date," joked one shopper.

Another said: "More like you couldn’t sell them in December so we’ll try to get rid of them again."

"Someone is trying to shift last xmas stock," joked somebody else.

A spokesperson Aldi has confirmed that this not the case at all - and its mince pies are not stock that is going out of date.

They told us: "Aldi saw conversation starting around Junemas and wanted to bring back our favourite festive treat to add to the celebrations."
