Aldi shoppers have spotted the same issue with £2.99 Cuthbert the Caterpillar toys

Earlier today, supermarket giant Aldi revealed a brand new toy in its Kevin the Carrot Christmas range.

Shoppers already knew they'd be able to buy Kevin and family, Marcus Radishford and E-banana Scrooge from Thursday 25 November, but Aldi has now made a surprise addition to the range.

Posting on social media, Aldi revealed it will also be selling Cuthbert the Caterpillar toys for £2.99 each.

The supermarket wrote: "The Man, The Myth, The Insect."

The post quickly racked up likes, comments and shares, but most shoppers pointed out the same thing...and shock...it's to do with M&S.

"Please tell me as part of the festive spirit of giving and good will you're sending one to M&S? I'm sure they'd gratefully receive one," said one shopper.

Another wrote: "Can almost hear certain legal teams groaning!"

"I wonder how a certain supermarket will feel about this. He's cute tho I think dinky would like this," wrote a third.

"Mmm now I like Cuthbert but I also like Colin which is better? Well there's only one way to find out FIGHT," joked a fourth.

However, for the most part, the response was positive.

One shopper exclaimed: "Brilliant!!! I’d love one but I’m sure he will sell out."

"Oh my days. He has to be added to the list. Thursday can’t get here quick enough," another fan said.

Earlier this year M&S launched a court case against Aldi accusing it of 'copying' its iconic Colin the Caterpillar cake.

At the time, an M&S spokesperson said; "Because we know the M&S brand is special to our customers and they expect only the very best from us, love and care goes into every M&S product on our shelves. We want to protect Colin, Connie and our reputation for freshness, quality, innovation and value.”
