Aldi says its turkey is cheapest on supermarket shelves this Christmas

A little birdy (well, quite a big one actually) has announced that Aldi is selling the UK’s cheapest fresh British whole turkey on supermarket shelves this year.

Aldi’s Fresh British Whole Turkeys are priced at £2.89 per kg, and will be the cheapest traditional big bird shoppers can find in UK supermarkets this December.

Available in three sizes; small (2.00kg - 4.49kg, serves 6-11), medium (4.50kg - 5.99kg, serves 11-14), and large (6.00kg - 8.00kg, serves 15-18), there’s a turkey for every family across the country to feast their eyes and bellies upon

The British whole turkeys are Red Tractor certified.

To help support those in need this Christmas, Aldi is pledging £1 to the Neighbourly Foundation for every one of its fresh whole turkeys and fresh turkey crowns purchased in the run-up to the big day.

The supermarket expects to raise over £400,000 to help fight food poverty with this initiative, as part of its mission to support the Neighbourly Foundation in helping to look after the health and happiness of communities across the UK.

Available in store from December 19 while stocks last.
