Aldi's range of Halloween items deemed 'too terrifying for children' have been banned from the middle aisle

Aldi is upping its Halloween game this year - so much that some products have been deemed too gruesome to sell in store.

The bargain retailer’s scarier products will be sold online only rather than in store, reports Birmingham Live .

Among the products never making it on to shelves are a motion sensored undead corpse, ghastly zombie-like ground breakers and a series of realistic props.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “In recent years we’ve seen increased demand for Halloween products, particularly amongst adults.

“We challenged our buyers to unleash their most realistic and terrifying Halloween decorations, to provide our customers with the best, high-quality products at consistently low prices.

Among the most realistic props are the Undead Corpse, which reacts to sound by rising up and howling with red-lit eyes, a Dancing Skeleton, and the Laughing Frankie, both of which feature a spine-chilling laugh.

Aldi has confirmed that these items are banned from being sold in store as they are "too terrifying for children" and will remain online exclusives.

The retailer will continue to stock its bestselling kid-friendly products in store, but if you’re looking for something more sinister you’ll have to shop online.
