Aldi's new rules for shoppers in England after Monday, July 19

Aldi has revealed what its rules will be for shoppers and staff from Monday, July 19.

Monday will see coronavirus restrictions across England lifted in what has been dubbed Freedom Day.

It means masks will legally no longer have to be worn in places such as shops, trains and buses in England.

But the Government has said it still expects people to wear masks for safety.

And masks will still have to be worn in some places - such as on trains and buses where the operator requires it.

Businesses are still able to refuse to serve people who don't wear masks.

Other supermarkets, such as Sainsbury's, have said they will still encourage people to wear masks.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “From Monday, July 19, we'll continue to encourage customers and colleagues to wear face coverings when they're in store.

"Other measures like hand sanitiser and screens will also stay in place.

"Face masks are still required for customers and colleagues in our Welsh and Scottish stores, in line with the latest guidance.”
