Aldi's new Cuthbert plush toy has shoppers all thinking the same thing

Just this morning, Aldi announced its popular Cuthbert the Caterpillar would be joining their latest plush toy family that includes Kevin the Carrot and Marcus Radishford.

The Manchester Evening News reports that the popular supermarket will be launching Cuthbert the Caterpillar toys in-stores tomorrow for just £2.99.

This marks Cuthbert's official return after his brief cameo in the budget supermarket's Christmas advert this year and it has shoppers all thinking the exact same thing.

For those who were involved in Aldi's legal drama, earlier this year saw the supermarket's adorable caterpillar be taken to court after M&S accused the design of being 'too similar' to their iconic Colin the Caterpillar.

The legal battle captured shoppers attention as a million memes, as well as the #freecuthbert, began trending online.

Aldi announced the caterpillars return on their Facebook account with a post captioned: "The Man, The Myth, The Insect. In stores on 25th November!"

The post has since gained thousands of likes and comments from impressed shoppers who are all to happy to remind the supermarket of their legal drama this year.

"Blimey M&S have been kind and let Cuthbert out of prison for Christmas" one shopper commented.

"Please tell me as part of the festive spirit of giving and good will you're sending one to M&S? I'm sure they'd gratefully receive one" another shopper expressed.

One shopper took aim at M&S with the hilarious take on their slogan by commenting: "Its just not any caterpillar its a Cuthbert Caterpillar."

"M&S are definitely gonna be miffed they didn't think of this" wrote a third shopper.

While a fourth commented: "it’s gonna kick off again isn’t it."

The last time fans seen Cuthbert, he was being carted off to prison by two lemons in the supermarket's Christmas advert, which was a hilarious nod to the two retailers legal battle which has been dubbed, "The Battle of the Caterpillars."

One shopper posted a tongue in cheek comment that said: "You should have done the 2 Sour lemons too, one named M & the other S."

Cuthbert the Caterpillar will be launched in-stores, alongside his Christmas advert co-stars, on Thursday November 25.
