Getting solid, quality cookware is essential for those of us who love to spend time in the kitchen, or want efficient and effective cookware that can be used on the hob or in the oven. And for those who love lovely-looking kitchenware the burnt orange hue of Le Creuset is something which we hanker after greatly - only thing is, it comes with a whopping great price tag.
Aldi's cast iron cookware is one of those Specialbuys where you think 'this can't be this cheap?' But it is. The supermarket has been selling cast iron cookware for a few years now and the prices are a fraction of its French counterpart. They may not come in burnt orange, but they are as damn good as Le Creuset.
Like the French brand the Aldi dishes come in shallow, round pans and they also do baking dishes (with no lid) and cast iron frying pans, too. They come in colours black or blue or cream and even red, and the super saving set comes with a skillet, a shallow casserole dish and a round casserole dish.
While the majority of the dishes are only available in-store, the three-piece set is only available exclusively online and you can buy it, here. At £54.99 the set is still only a fraction of the price of one Le Creuset dish, which retail between £159. and £430.
Individually, Aldi's cast iron dishes retail from £19.99 (for two mini casserole dishes) to £29.99 for the bigger casserole dishes.
