Aldi shoppers were stuck in online queues of up to 24,000 people as they scrambled to get their hands on the retailer's garden products at the weekend.
One item that proved particularly popular was a £39.99 patio heater, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The Gardenline 2000w model was listed as a SpecialBuy and, sure enough, it was quickly out of stock.
Shoppers took to social media to question the long queues, with one asking: "What are Aldi selling that is so much in demand? I’ve got FOMO now."
Another replied: "Is it the patio heater cos rule of 6 outside starts in a few weeks and it's gonna be baltic cos that's standard for Easter holidays?"
A third confirmed: "I’ve just finished, the patio heater appears to be the item selling fast."
Aldi took its app offline at one point due to the high demand.
Aldi's description of the patio heater reads: "Relaxing outside on a cool evening can sometimes be a bit chilly, so add this Gardenline 2000w Patio Heater to your patio set up this year for a relaxing ambience you won't want to miss out on.
"With 3 heat settings, a safety tip switch and a generous 1.9-metre cable (approx.), whether you are enjoying a cheeky glass of vino on a clear summer night, or reading a good book, this fabulous patio heater is sure to keep you warm and cosy."
The heater will be back in stock in the next couple of weeks.
