The last 'old-style' Aldi supermarket left in Dundee will re-open later this week with a new look that shop bosses say will make shopping easier than ever.
The German supermarket giant will reveal the fresh new look for the Stack Retail Park branch when it re-opens to customers on Thursday 25th November at 8am, after closing last week.
Aldi says the new layout will bring the Stack store into line with its newer shops as well as refurbished old ones, including its new-build Myrekirk and re-done Arbroath Road stores elsewhere in the city.
The Lochee store already employs 24 locals and further jobs have been pledged as part of the redesign.
Aldi Store Manager Andrejs Murnieks said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves.
"We’re committed to making sure that the shopping experience each customer enjoys in our stores is on a par with the products and services they’re used to.”
Feedback from over 50,000 customers has helped to reinvent Aldi's store layouts, which were launched in 2018.
Among the highlights of the new store layout are an increased space for Scottish meat and fish and for Aldi's Lacura range of health and beauty products, as well as more room for babycare products and food to go.
Perhaps most importantly of all, bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle - meaning they're less likely to get squashed by the rest of the shopping.
After re-opening the Stack shop will be open from 8am-10pm Monday to Saturday and 9am-8pm on Sundays.
