The Tokyo 2020 Olympics is in full swing and budget retailer Aldi has brought out another trendy Japanese favourite to its shelves.
Refreshingly fragrant Shirayuk Saké (£4.99) has already arrived in-stores, so shoppers can enjoy a taste of Japan whilst tuning into the Games from home.
What’s more? This podium-topping beverage is more than three times cheaper than comparable sized bottles at Selfridges & Co priced at £18.99 - now that’s something to celebrate.
Saké is the national alcoholic drink in Japan and Aldi’s version comes from the famous region Itami of Hyogo Prefecture. If you want to drink it the traditional way, you can buy a Japanese Saké Mug Set from Amazon for just £14.88.
Made from fermented rice, it’s an adventurous alternative to dry white wine, with a refreshing, clean and delicate taste. Traditionally served warm, it can also be enjoyed chilled over ice, or as a base to brighten any summer cocktail.

The drink not only pairs superbly with traditional Asian cuisine such as sushi, but it’s also a great beverage to accompany non-Japanese foods - including fish and chips. The sweetness and freshness of Saké works to match wonderfully with this great British classic.
Now, there’s nothing left to do except embrace this winning spirit of the 2020 Olympics at-home with a bottle to celebrate Team GB.
But as the Saké is part of Aldi’s Specialbuys range, shoppers need to get in there quick to try the new bevvy as once the bottles are gone, they’re gone.
Searching for something to pair your Saké with? You're in luck as Aldi has launched a delicious footlong sushi roll and it's available in stores now.
The £2.49 footlong feast features two classic sushi flavours all packed into one irresistible roll.

Half is filled with crunchy katsu chicken topped with black sesame and crispy onions, whilst the other half is filled with delicious smoked salmon and soft cream cheese - sounds dreamy.
Going all out? sushi lovers can pair the flavoursome footlong with Aldi’s Specially Selected Veg Nests & Dim Sum (£2.99) or the Specially Selected Gyoza & Fishcakes (£2.99) to make it into a finger-licking meal; both also available in stores now.
