Budget supermarket Aldi has delighted shoppers after releasing a beauty product fans claim is “a very very good dupe” of a premium brand.
Aldi is a firm favourite among Liverpool shoppers, often being praised for its affordable groceries and homeware - and more recently its beauty products.
Customers are praising one of the retailer’s latest Special Buys, comparing it to a hugely popular Clinique product.
Aldi’s Lacura products are known for their similarities to other major beauty brands, having been compared to Pixi, Elizabeth Arden, Yves Saint Laurent and La Prairie.
The discount retailer’s Lacura 3 Step System, which includes facial soap, clarifying lotion and moisturising lotion, has been a hit with shoppers, gaining five star reviews already.
Many shoppers have been quick to compare it to Clinique’s 3 Step Introduction gift set, which features a ‘liquid facial’ mild soap, ‘clarifying’ lotion and ‘dramatically different’ moisturising lotion.
One customer on the Aldi website said: “Who needs Clinique?”, while another said: “Not a bad copy of Clinique's 3Step, leaves skin clean, smooth and well moisturised.”
Another added: “Have been using Clinique’s 3 step system for many years now. Aldi’s version is just as good, especially when used with the moisture boost.”
The Aldi product is priced at £4.99 while Clinique’s comes in at £20.
The products in both sets are all the same size.
