Aldi's £17 rose Champagne has just won a huge award in time for summer

We bet you didn't think a cheap but award winning champagne existed? Then, enter Aldi.

Following from the huge success of their Veuve Monsigny Champagne over the years, this year their Veuve Monsigny Champagne Rosé NV has taken the top spot.

The pink fizz has won big at the International Wine Challenge - the Oscar's of the wine world - taking home the highly-coveted Gold meal, the only supermarket to do so.

The award winning Veuve Monsigny Champagne Rosé NV   is £16.99, and hits stores later this week, with Aldi reporting record sales of the floral hued wine in the last year.

You can pick up a bottle of Veuve Monsigny Champagne Rosé NV online and in store from today.

After record sales last summer, Aldi has expanded its Rosé wine range this year to include a host of dynamic new Provence-style wines, such as the Côtes du Luberon Rosé, which also took home a Silver medal at International Wine Challenge.

Aldi didn't just win big for it's champagne, it's organic range also proved successful with the Organic Malbec (£6.99) also winning a silver medal.

Their beers, wine and spirits have also won big this year, with a range of 63 awards this year already, building on a very successful 2018 where they won 240 awards. The supermarket also achieved the title of Supermarket of the Year at the IWC Merchant Awards 2018.
