Aldi's £1.69 nostalgic treat 'comes to the rescue' after reports of Cadbury 99 Flake shortage

It was reported this week that there's a UK shortage of Cadbury 99 Flakes but now Aldi says it has 'come to the rescue' with a £1.69 treat that will take you back to your childhood.

The flake shortage is said to have been sparked by huge demand for the whippy style ice creams topped with the crumbly Cadbury Flake.

But now Aldi says fans can still get their flakey fix from the comfort of their own home with a treat available in stores and online now.

Aldi's Dairyfine Crumbly Cones, which are £1.69 for a four-pack, is said to be the 'ultimate in childhood nostalgia' and save you having to run for the ice cream van when you hear that music playing.

The frozen cones are made with creamy vanilla ice cream and a milk chocolate flake finger. Aldi's budget price means they come in £2 cheaper than Cadbury's Flake 99 Cones bought in stores.

People have been discussing the Cadbury 99 Flake shortage on Twitter, but Cadbury UK appeared to reassure fans, replying to various comments saying: "There's been an increase in demand for our 99' Flake in the UK. Don't worry it's very much available & we're working closely with the customers to make sure they receive them as quickly as possible!"
