Aldi reopens after expansion - this is what's changed

Aldi has said an expansion of its Henbury store will help shoppers during 'uncertain times' as it reopens for business today (April 22).

The German retailer's store in Crow Lane in Henbury opened its doors earlier this morning after closing for works last month.

Plans to expand the store's retail area to 1,315sqm were submitted to Bristol City Council’s  planning department back in 2019.

The budget chain says the shop will now have an additional aisle, clearer signs to make shopping easier and new, easy to browse freezers.

Store manager, Olly Walters, said he hopes the expansion will benefit the community as lockdown continues due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

 “The team and I are really looking forward to welcoming back some familiar faces, and feeding our local community," he said.

"Hopefully the new bigger store will make shopping easier and more comfortable during these uncertain times.”

The store will be open from 8am until 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday,
