Aldi recalls popular chicken product over salmonella fears

Aldi have issued an urgent product recall after there was a possibility some of their chicken products have been infected with salmonella.

The budget supermarket is recalling Roosters Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken and Roosters Breaded Poppin' Chicken because the products may contain salmonella.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

If you have bought any of the products do not consume them. Instead, return them to the nearest Aldi store for a full refund.

Aldi said: "Customers are advised not to eat this product and return it to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

"We apologise for any inconvenience and thankyou for your co-operation."

The affected products are:
