Aldi shoppers are praising the budget supermarket chain, after it hilariously reached out to rival Marks and Spencer, offering to 'kiss and make up' just in time for Christmas.
The two supermarkets have been in the midst of a bitter war over cake, after M&S accused Aldi of copying its iconic Colin the Caterpillar cake, by releasing its own Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake.
Earlier this year, M&S launched legal action against Aldi over the chocolate cake's likeness, prompting Aldi to launch a number of jibes at the high-end supermarket on social media.
Just last month, Aldi released its annual Christmas advert, which featured Cuthbert the Caterpillar being marched away in handcuffs, poking fun at the rivalry.

Now, it seems as though Aldi wants to put any animosity between to the two retailers to bed, offering M&S the chance to kiss and make up, beneath a piece of mistletoe which has been strategically placed between the two shops, which are ironically next door to one another in Skegness, where the photo is taken, as well as many other parts of the UK.
A photo shared to Aldi's UK Facebook page shows a sign, which has been erected between the two stores, and reads, "Kiss and make up?" alongside a ribbon with mistletoe tied to it.
Underneath, a man in Aldi uniform can be seen holding a bouquet of roses while appearing to kiss into the air, alongside Aldi's caption: "This isn’t just any peace offering, this is…"
Many Aldi shoppers have been quick to comment on the post praising the supermarket for its 'epic' peace offering - although we suspect it *may* be being made in jest.
"Who needs a Christmas advert when you have Aldi's social media team to bring the festive cheer this year?" one customer wrote. "We all need a laugh this year and your team is keeping us all laughing."
Another added: "Whoever came up with this deserves a pay rise. Absolutely hilarious."
Will they bury the hatchet and make friends in the spirit of Christmas? Probably not, but they certainly are keeping us entertained.
