Aldi praised after issuing M&S 'peace offering' in latest Facebook post

Aldi's social media team are at it again and shoppers are loving it.

This year we have all witnessed the back and forth between supermarket giants Aldi and Marks and Spencer after Aldi released a caterpillar cake looking similar to M&S's iconic Colin.

It wasn't the first look-alike Aldi have been warned about - makeup artist to the stars, Charlotte Tilbury won a legal battle after Aldi released a bronzer with similar packaging.

And this Christmas Aldi have released a glittery gin where the bottle lights up.

M&S also sell light-up snow globe gins around Christmas time and often sell out.

But it is said the prestigious M&S have filed legal documents claiming that Aldi 'copied' the idea for its light-up gin bottles.

You can read more about that here.

In true Aldi fashion, the budget supermarket's online team doesn't seem to worried.

Posting to Facebook and Twitter, Aldi UK posted a photo of an Aldi worker holding some flowers up to a Marks and Spencer's store connected to an Aldi.

Nodding to M&S's iconic slogan, they captioned the photo, "This isn’t just any peace offering, this is…"

Aldi shoppers have since praised the budget supermarket for their social team.

M&S haven't replied to the post on Facebook or Twitter.

Jo commented: "Oh....the fun this marketing team are having in their jobs! Absolutely brilliant xx"

Lucy wrote: "Aldi social media person... I salute you for keeping us entertained"

Gen added: "You are making everyone's day a little happier!"

"I alway look forward to the Aldi UK social Media posts. Absolutely great craic." Stevie said.

However Andrew warned: "Reckon it may come back to bite Aldi one day sooner or later."
