Aldi opening hours: Supermarket announces extended Christmas times - but will close for St Stephen’s Day

Aldi is extending the opening hours at most of its Irish stores ahead of Christmas.

The supermarket has confirmed that the majority of stores will open from 8am to 11pm over Christmas week.

However, Aldi will maintain its tradition of shutting shops on St Stephen’s Day as a thank you to its workers.

Aldi Group Managing Director, Niall O’Connor, confirmed that “the vast majority” of their 149 stores across Ireland will be open from 8am to 11pm during Christmas week and “will be fully stocked with daily deliveries”.

He added: “It’s important to us that our customers get even more time to stock up on all the essentials they need for Christmas this year.

“We are extending our opening hours to make sure more shoppers can avail of our unbeatable range and prices and conveniently pick up everything they need this Christmas.

“We also would like to recognise and thank our amazing colleagues who have been going above and beyond to serve local communities over the past year. This is why we will once again be maintaining our tradition of keeping our stores closed on St Stephen’s Day.”
