Aldi opening hours over Christmas and New Year - and when the turkeys arrive

Aldi has released the details of its opening hours over the festive period.

As we approach Christmas, the German chain is will be open for longer to let more people shop safely while following social distancing guidelines.

It means stores will be open until 11pm at night in the week leading up to Christmas Eve.

Stores will be open until 6pm on Christmas Eve, while click-and-collect will be live in more than 200 stores by Christmas to let people shop from home where possible.

Chief executive Giles Hurley said: "I am delighted to share that our stores are fully stocked with our best ever festive range of award winning food and drinks at the unbeatable prices you’ve come to expect from Aldi."

  • Saturday 19 December - 7am to 11pm
  • Sunday 20 December - 10am to 4pm
  • Monday 21 December - 7am to 11pm
  • Tuesday 22 December - 7am to 11pm
  • Wednesday 23 December -  7am to 11pm
  • Christmas Eve - 7am to 6pm
  • Christmas Day - Stores closed
  • Boxing Day - Stores closed
  • Sunday 27 December - 10am to 4pm
  • Monday 28 December - 8am to 8pm
  • Tuesday 29 December - 8am to 8pm
  • Thursday 30 December -  8am to 8pm
  • New Year's Eve - 8am to 6pm
  • New Year's Day - Stores closed
  • Saturday 2 January - Normal hours

As well as opening hours, Aldi also said exactly when its fresh British turkeys would arrive in store.

Shoppers will be able to find their festive birds from Saturday, 19 December onwards, the chain said.

"There’s something for everyone in our line up this year, from Specially Selected vegan pastry wreaths – hand made and filled with chestnut mushrooms, butternut squash and fruity stuffing – to our Specially Selected British Wagyu Joint and our hand finished free range British Chesham Bronze turkey, a traditional slow growing breed that’s dry aged for extra flavour and texture," Hurley said.

And with more and more Aldi stores operating online with click and collect, it means you can get orders sorted ahead of time from home too.

Aldi’s also offering home delivery through Deliveroo at 130 stores, allowing shoppers choose between 400 products and have them delivered to their doorstep in as little as 30 minutes - you can se if your local Aldi is taking part here aldi.co.uk/Deliveroo
