Aldi lifts product restrictions and introduces sanitizing stations

Restrictions at Aldi supermarkets are being lifted as of next week, as the coronavirus outbreak continues.

The supermarket previously put limitations on how many items customers could buy amid panic buying.

They have now implemented new measures to help keep customers stocked up and safe.

Only three items will be restricted to customers, hand wash, shower gel and UHT Milk.

From this weekend, customers will be offered wipes to disinfect trolleys and baskets when they enter the store.

New priority shopping hours for elderly and vulnerable customers who have no option but to visit stores will be in place for 30 minutes before normal opening times between Monday and Saturday.

Early opening on Sundays will continue to be reserved for NHS and emergency workers.

Customers will also be able to use their contactless card for transactions over £45, as contactless limits increase from Monday to allow more customers to pay without cash or contact with payment terminals.

Supermarkets across Glasgow have been forced to change their rules and opening times amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Crowd control measures are in place to limit the number of customers allowed in the store at any time, and social distancing measures have been enforced at tills.

Shoppers have been restricted to buying only up to three of any product across food, toiletries and cleaning products.
