Aldi launches light-up glitter gin to celebrate Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Aldi has launched a special edition drink to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The budget-friendly supermarket has released a new addition to their Infusionist Gin range.

The British strawberry and mint gin liqueur, selling for £13.99, also lights up and shimmers, and has been designed to pay tribute to Britain’s longest reigning Monarch. What’s more, Aldi’s low-cost version is £2 cheaper than a similar product from M&S.

The enticing new beverage will hit the shelves on Monday, May 16, 2022 in Aldi stores across the UK, but the limited edition gin will only stay in stores while stocks last.

The announcement of the gin is likely to please many and Aldi commented: "The Queen is known to be partial to a gin, so it seems only right to launch a special jubilicious tipple in commemoration of the historical anniversary.

"Encapsulating the taste of a picture-perfect British summer, the new liqueur boasts flavours of jammy British strawberries, with a hint of mint to balance. Delicious served with tonic, an orange garnish and plenty of ice for a classic Jubilee G&T."

Unlike its M&S alternative, Aldi’s regal gin liqueur is presented in a sparkling light-up bottle, creating a festive red, white, and blue glow, as well as platinum-coloured flakes that sparkle in the sun – the perfect centre piece for street and garden parties, or intimidate family BBQs. Not only will shoppers celebrate in style, but they could also save 13% compared to shopping at M&S.

Shoppers will need to move quickly to cheers Her Majesty with Aldi’s new British strawberry and mint gin liqueur on the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend, because as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone!
