Aldi launches discounted private online tuition for schoolchildren

Aldi has become the first supermarket to make private tutoring lessons available as part of its back to school range.

The German discounter is now selling Private Online Tuition as part of its specialbuys, at a 55% discount.

Aldi has partnered with MyTutor to offer the deal that gives parents two tutorials for £18, making them the cheapest on the market right now.

Aldi's Julie Ashfield said: “We wanted to help ease any back to school stress by offering private tuition lessons at an accessible price. With education being hugely impacted by the worldwide pandemic, we hope this launch will help support parents and children across the UK.”

The packages offer two one-hour sessions for £18, with lessons covering topics from from Primary level (Key Stage 2) through to A Level and more than 30 curriculum subjects to choose from.

Lessons are described as live and interactive - tailored to the children and can be scheduled to fit around the hectic schedule of any family.

MyTutor chief executive Bertie Hubbard said: "One-to-one tuition has been proven to boost progress by five months and so we’re delighted to be working with Aldi to help more children get back on track with their studies so they can start the new school year full of confidence.”

There are 2,000 packages available, but parents will need to best be quick – as with all Aldi Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone.
