Aldi launch Valentine's Day 2020 meal deal and it's the cheapest so far

Being on a budget for Valentine's Day isn't all doom and gloom. Thanks to this year's impressive dinner for two options from major supermarkets, you can treat your partner to an extra special meal without forking out a big chunk of money.

Aldi is the latest retailer to reveal its romantic meal deal, which lets you pick up enough food for two people for less than £10.

The budget supermarket is helping to spread the romance by launching a selection of delicious starters, mains, sides and desserts for the annual celebration of love.

Included in the offer is Heart-Shaped Pancakes, Chicken Love Nuggets and Sirloin Steak with Pink Peppercorn Butter.

Instead of selling the meal deal at a set price, the amount Aldi charges will depend on the items shoppers pick from its Specially Selected range.

We've worked out that the cheapest combination is the £2.99 Sharing Bread with Camembert to start, followed by the £1.99 Chicken Love Nuggets as a main, plus a side of mash potatoes or chips for £1.99.

Your dessert would be the Mini Heart-Shaped Pancakes, which are priced at £1.49.

That adds up to £8.46 for two people, or £4.23 per person - so you'll be spending much less than you would in a fancy restaurant on Valentine's Day.

Unlike other supermarket meal deals, this one doesn't include drink - but it's currently the cheapest aorund.

Tesco and M&S are selling their Valentine's Day meal deals for £20, while Asda and will set you back £15.
