Aldi launch new Wagyu rump steaks that only cost £5.99 each

Meat lovers are in for a treat as Aldi is selling new Wagyu rump steaks for only £5.99.

The budget supermarket has created the fancy steak from the most expensive cut of beef, the rump.

It is on sale now at Aldi supermarkets nationwide - but you ought to be quick as the store's SpecialBuys tend go fast.

Rump steaks currently aren't available in major supermarkets like Tesco and Asda , so now is the perfect time to get your hands on one for a night in.

The Specially Selected Wagyu Rump Steak is inspired by the Japanese Kobe Wagyu, which can sell for up to £500 a kilo.

The meat is taken from the hindquarter and the muscle above the hip bone, meaning you can expect a deliciously soft texture and plenty of flavour.

For best results, try cooking the steak on high heat on a BBQ or frying pan.

Aldi also recommends serving it with a pinch of salt and pepper or smothered in the supermarket's Peppercorn Sauce Mix (£0.29).

Last year, the German supermarket was selling one ribeye or sirloin Wagyu steak for £8.

Meat fans can also find a new tasty treat Morrisons, which has recently launched spicy 'Hellfire' sausages that contain three of the world’s hottest chillies.
