Aldi launch first Deliveroo service in Wales

Supermarket chain Aldi has launched its first Deliveroo service in Wales.

The trial service is now available at four stores in Wales at Newport (Barrack Hill), Wrexham (Ruthin Road), Cardiff (City Link Retail Park) and Bangor (Garth Road).

The delivery to the home trial was initially launched at eight stores in England in May, and is now being extended to almost 130 stores across the UK.

Richard Thornton, communications director at Aldi UK, said: “The new trial with Deliveroo will provide more customers in Wales with access to great quality food.

“This is an exciting venture for Aldi which provides a new way to serve our customers during these challenging times.”

Last month its launched its first click and collect service at its Caerphilly Road store in Cardiff. That is now being extended in the lead up to Christmas to its store in Porth and Llansamlet in Swansea

Aldi is Britain’s fifth largest supermarket with 900 stores and more than 36,000 employees.

In Wales it has 50 stores and 1,300 staff.
