Aldi launch bizarre new sausages inspired by spaghetti carbonara

Whilst pancetta and parmesan are more usually found in Italian-style spaghetti dishes, Aldi is about to start selling a new flavour of sausages featuring the salty favourites.

In an attempt to "combine the best of British and Italian cuisine", the famously affordable supermarket has launched packs of Specially Selected Pancetta and Parmesan Sausages.

Made by blending British pork blended with smoked pancetta and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, the meaty cheesy sausages are the epitome of indulgence.

But being Aldi, all that extravagance won't set you back a fortune, working out at 30p per sausage.

Each 400g six-pack costs £1.89, and is set to hit stores this week, on Thursday 26th September although sadly, being a Special Buy, there will only be limited stock.

The sausages are also gluten free, made with Red Tractor assured 100% British pork.

Whilst carbona is traditionally made from guanciale and pecorino, many British recipes swap the meat and cheese out for the most easily available pancetta and parmesan instead.

Hide away from any potentially judging Italians and pair them with creamy pasta for an easy (if completely inauthentic) homemade carbonara, or eat them as usual in a sandwich or fry up.

Whilst you're there, Aldi also sell cheap brioche buns for 79p a pack, plus big packs of finger rolls for 45p.
