Aldi issues urgent warning to anyone who eats its chocolate

Aldi shoppers have been warned to check their cupboards for a box of chocolates which the supermarket chain has recalled.

The grocery retailer has discovered one of its popular Moser Roth own-label products may contain egg, which is not identified on the packaging.

Although it is only a problem to people who have an allergy or intolerance to egg products, Aldi is concerned about the possible health risk to customers.

All best before dates are affected by the recall, so if you have a 160g box of these chocolates, they have been recalled.

Aldi has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers, explaining why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg do not eat it, but return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
